Implementation Notes for Find

The find utility suite includes the script updatedb which is used to create the database used by the locate utility. This is a shell script and must be run with bash. The easiest way to run the script is to invoke it with bash (e.g. bash "C:/program files/RTR/updatedb"). The locatedb will be stored in C:/RTR/locatedb unless you edit the updatedb script. As delivered, the script creates a database for drive C, to change this you may want to edit the script and change the SEARCHPATHS variable (multiple drives/directories are allowed and are space separated). Also, the script currently prunes entries in C:/TMP and C:/TEMP, you can edit the PRUNEPATHS variable to change the list of pruned directories.

We have not included xargs with the find utilities.
